This is the third time I've taken a photo of this kind of flower. The other two were entries in previous Worth contests. In the other shots, I wasn't able to show the hidden star and I thought it's about time to do so. I have no idea what this flower is called and it's not even from my garden. To get one, I have to sneak out to the front of my neighbor's house, make sure no one's watching, then grab a few of many which have fallen from their very tall stems and onto the pavement. If anyone were watching, I must look like a certified loony.
I've been searching the net to find out what kind of flower this is but no luck. Does anyone with a green thumb know its name? :) The petals are thick, almost rubbery in texture and they are at the end of stems which can grow as high as the house's roof, so I have to wait for them to fall to get one. I never really noticed how huge the bush is. It's monstrous!

Oh this is pretty! I love the backlight making the petals look so dainty. Can't believe I missed your day 2 also, freaking cool looking abstract.
Lovely flower! Is it a petunia? I can't tell from the top down, but the stripes make me think maybe so. Petunias are kind of trumpet-shaped.
Um...could you ask your neighbor for a fresh one, not fallen? Or even what the flower is? It's lovely and it's nice to see what can be found by taking a few minutes to explore deeper!
Lovely glowing light. Very pretty! The secret star is very cute.
Beautiful...now what kind of flower is this? and where can I get one? That star in the middle is incredible.
That is drop dead gorgeous.
The back lighting is very effective on this, what an odd and beautiful flower.
